Description
Jamaican thyme (often Plectranthus amboinicus, or broadleaf thyme) is a hardy, aromatic perennial shrub with thick, fuzzy, serrated leaves. It is often called “French thyme” or “Cuban oregano” in Jamaica. Known for its much stronger flavour than common thyme, it is an essential ingredient in Jamaican cooking, used in soups, stews, and seasoned meats.
